That cop, despite being a 25 year veteran, was a complete and utter imbecile when it comes to firearms handling. You might regularly see someone that stupid driving a 4000 pound car on the freeway weaving in and out of traffic doing 20 over the speed limit. Not really a huge difference between the two, both have zero respect for what they are doing and both have the potential to end in disaster.

Not to make too fine a point, but Glocks do have safeties, just not a manual flip safety. They have a trigger safety (which you alluded to), a firing pin safety, and a drop safety. They are designed to be a tool that requires no extra fine motor skills in order for the weapon to be deployed. That requires that the user understand and be fully trained in its use. It also requires that they not be loosely carried in a pocket or purse without being in a holster as anything (lipstick, pencil, or a finger) wedged inside the trigger guard that activates the trigger by disengaging the trigger safety WILL fire the weapon. Once again it is people who negligently handle their firearms due to a lack of respect for that power that cause these issues.

What scares me even more though is people who see cops mishandle their responsibility and crucify them for it are more often than not the same people who say cops should be the only ones with firearms. Wrap your head around that...

Yeah it's just that some people who don't understand beans about firearms read "no safety" and go even more batshit insane about ghost guns that shoot 30 magazine clips in half a second all by themselves.

That's why I am not a huge fan of glocks. I want the added protection of the actual safety. Mine has the trigger safety (automatic safety) and a manual safety switch. Agree though, if you have a glock, to have it in your pocket with a round chambered is just retard status.

I actually saw a funny article with all these people talking about how "despicable" it was that children, aged 16-17 could own firearms while supervised by their parents. Yet the same people fight notice requirements for children -- the same age -- seeking abortions.

Most people that I talk to carry their firearm full loaded off safety but in a pocket holster (if they are going to pocket it):
