Like I said man... you never know what can happen. War is a part of humanity. No empire has ever withstood the test of time. All have fallen eventually, and most due to being conquered. I don't think invasion is likely and it is very unlikely in my lifetime but it's possible. I'll link you an article written by a civilian who survived tge Bosnian War. It's an eye opener.
