Vermi what you're doing is basically prepping for a zombie appocalipse like Holden said.
You(muricans) will never listen because you're obsessed with your liberties shit. Giving everyone access to weapons just means the 1% batshit crazy also get one. Hense the crazy killing outbursts and the insanely high murder rates.
IF war somehow happens you will be given a rifle, not a hand gun. Or put in a tank, if you're short. And only after you spend weeks in some boot camp to teach you teamwork and/or how to shoot that rifle.
Only chance you can use your pistols is if you're invaded and you form up militia resistance.
Though let's be realistic...you have nuclear weapons and oceans on both sides. Who the fuck will invade you? Canada or Mexico?

Given im kind of on the fence about this issue, I won't really comment.
But I do know this, invading america would be a fucking nightmare, when the majority of even citizens are shooting at you wherever you go. This makes me feel much safer =)

This makes me feel much safer =) Hand guns are not that big of a threat since their effective kill range is less than 10m, and at that range you're basically a suicider after the first 2-3 shots. IED, mortars and snipers are much more effective. Just check Iraq for reference. What your hand guns are good for is protecting yourself/your property at the expense of an occasional killing spree and high murder rates. Though the same thing could be achieved with good laws and next to zero guns for the public. Just check Canada.

Man. Even here in Canadia, I know of 3 people who collectively own over 500 firearms. Then there are the thousands I dont even know. I go to the firing range and it is fun.
When shit hits the fan, I know where I am going. Until shit hits the fan, it is a fun hobby.
Gun control and restrictions are ignored by the 1% of loonies and the legal gun owners are generally the most careful trained and least likely to ever shoot anyone but themselves.

Pretty much what Murd said. I was going to write a scathing reply to you Harry, but Murd pretty much shit all over you with far less words than I probably would have. I have rifles too Harry. And a shotgun. I don't think I need you to explain to me what types of guns are used for what range, considering I've been shooting guns since I was about 10 years old. Thanks though. However, carrying a rifle around on your back is not practical. In the event I ever do get into a situation where one of "the crazies" opens fire in a public place, I and anyone else around me would be happy I have my concealed handgun on me. Zeke]Man.
