For those that are watching, let's start swapping ideas on what we think is going on. This show has me intrigued.

I wouldn't advise reading this thread unless you are current on all the episodes.

If I was the chief, I would lay a major fucking smack down on my daughter and her little bad influence friend would be history.

Kinda like debating the first 3 episodes of Lost. We know so litle of the real story that its a waste of time even guessing. They could go 100 different ways on this one and thats what makes it so interesting.

Im a getting anti-christ baby kinda vibe from the little ugly asian girl. And GR group is an internet turned real life troll group.

Yea I agree on the baby, but I almost feel like it's too obvious. With how secretive this show is, I think that answer would be too easy. When the penis swinging guy attacked the Asian chick, he mentioned leading the people in white.

White is traditionally a color of good, not evil. Also, the chief's wife is clearly not evil and she's in GR. But then there's that whole thing with GR buying the church and the rev. only missing the buyback due to helping the GR guy who got hit by the rock. Also, he obtained the money through violence and gambling, both of which are sinful activities. I definitely think GR is going to end up being a group either representing God or the Devil, I just don't know which one yet.

Also, the whole thing with the dogs....hell hounds?

The theme of the show is definitely a good vs evil thing like Lost. Each person is presented with options, and tests, and the GR people seem like they like to give people a little push to really test them. Like making the priest become a murderer and gambler when desperate.

Watched the first episode, way to may WTF's for me. I don't mind a marginal amount of WTF's to give me something the think about, but this was WTF overload. Gonna stick with "The Strain" instead.

I think the exact opposite. To me, the Leftover is a bizarre, mysterious event and people reacting in a way that you would expect from people. They become angry, fearful, searching for answers, questioning everything.

Strain to me is so unrealistic. I mean, jesus...

A plane lands and 98% of the passengers are dead from an unknown agent. Unexplained ammonia traces everywhere. Signs of violence (from thing bursting out of cargo hold). Cargo that is not on manifest with UNKNOWN BIOLOGICAL ORGANISMS. Federal agents gets head exploded and box goes missing from restricted area. Medical examiner and his entire staff MURDERED. Bodies missing.

CDC response? Sure, who the fuck needs a quarantine. Release all 4 survivors into NEW YORK FUCKING CITY. I mean, they fucking throw people in jail that refuse to get TB treatment... what the hell do you think they do when it's an unknown agent that killed hundreds of people in seconds?!?!

The book lays out the timing a lot better Sonya. It all happens at the same time. The 4 survivors are released at the same time the one medical examiner dies(rest of his staff got sent home). Still if your going for realism, this story line wont be for you haha. Wait until The Master starts to get angry.

Unrealistic?? 3% of the planet disappearing into thin air is realistic?

The Strain is meant to be unrealistic its about vampires. But at least their are answers for things. The box, the plague, the ammonia all these things stem from the vampire boss. Sure fill me in on the details later, that's why I will watch.
