How do we figure out which vets might be disgruntled? I mean from a governmental standpoint. That's a nice way of basically avoiding making it seem like a blanket statement but in reality that's exactly what it is. There is no way to determine which veterans may or may not be disgruntled, disillusioned or have ptsd because medical records are protected. Which they are diligently trying to circumvent, asking doctors to ask questions like; is there a weapon in the home? etc.
The real fear mongering is weapon systems meant for war being implemented here at home and officers like the one in the video making statements about vets and IED's. I'm sure he isn't the only officer with that mindset, I'm sure its widespread and taught as a threat scenario because the police always want to have the monopoly on force.
Sonya, when was the last time police were attacked with a shape charge, RPG, or C4? Because that's what it would take to put a dent in one of those MRAP's. Even a $30,000 Barret .50 anti-material sniper rifle cant do shit to one of those vehicles.

I was sent overseas with worse equipment than these police have for "protecting and serving" us here at home. The police are literally equipped better than we were. My standard kit didn't even have a weapon that shot more than a 3 round burst. We didn't have MRAP's as nice as these and we sure as shit didn't have automatic sub-machine guns or automatic M16's. Now we had all the heavy stuff yes, when the police start having M240B and Mk-19's will you guys take issue? I'm sure its coming.. The video of the helicopter in Miami had a door-mounted machine gun..
First things first. Before I get into my position on this you guys need to quite with the double standards for sourcing bullshit. You guys demand G-Fist cite sources that measure up to your subjective standards but then you make the following statements of fact to support your arguments for which you provide no sources whatsoever or completely unverifiable sources:
Obs: SWAT would need this to deal with a situation. Happens all the time.
Obs: You would probably be surpised how many times the bomb unit from swat is called out.

The .50 BMG was banned in California in 2004 Obs. Who really needs to do their research? The .50 Caliber BMG Regulation Act of 2004 is a law in the state of California that effectively banned all .50 BMG-caliber rifles from being sold in the state. The law took effect on January 1, 2005. No new .50 cal rifles are legal in CA.
I realize we're talking about Indiana here but can I rightly assume your opinions are relevant to the state you live in, which is California? Your justification for allowing police to have MRAP's is based on 2 weapons that are completely NOT legal in this state. A .50 cal rifle and fully automatic weaponry.

If you guys are going to demand sources for statements of fact that support a position then you need to start sourcing yours as well. All of them, not just the convenient ones.
