I watched Last Ounce of Courage a couple of months back and it's amazing. Highly recommended if you love bad movies.

Don't worry, there are plenty of movies with white guys who are the bad guys... 'Avatar,' for instance. Big Bad White Business Man and Big Bad Psycho Space Marine against an Indian, a Latina, a Woman scientist, and a disgruntled/disillusioned vet who committed terrorist acts such as leading an uprising against the government, theft of government property to inflict terrorism, destruction of government property via terrorism, among other instances.

Maybe you're right, vets are dangerous. In 'Avatar,' James Sully (or whatever his name was) utilized his former military training to rally a leftwing extremist group to overthrow the government. wow. that's pretty deep.

btw it's comical how many times the term "rightwing extremist" was used in that DHS report... it was used in almost every other sentence. Like they say, "if you repeat a lie a gazillion times it doesn't matter what the truth is because too many people think that the lie is the truth and you'll be able to call the people who are trying to find the truth 'crazy truthers.'"

I can't remember who said that, I think it was Ghandi or something in reference to the British control of India.

I will be discussing the various reasons I think it's ridiculous for police to be rolling around in military grade weaponry. The crux of my argument is primarily going to revolve around comparing the economic cost to tax payers of testing, maintaining and training with such machinery with the number of times that type of machinery is actually used for the purpose it was made (ie. protection from explosive devices).

I'll save you time. The reason they do it is because they can, and you're paying for it.

Vermi this story is about Indiana not Cali. get on our level.

I asked for his source and we found out its a website known for fear mongering for cash. Looked into it more and the Homeland security document doesnt even come close to what the website was saying. They basically produced a story that fit their needs from nothing. Gfist bought it hook line and sinker, and here we are.

There you go again.

"its a website known for fear mongering for cash"

I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just saying if you're going to make statements like this and ones where you try to justify explosive resistant armored vehicles for police us by telling me they get bomb calls (relevant use for this vehicle) "more often than I would think", then you should qualify these statements with sources. You should if you're going to demand sources from people on the opposing side of the argument anyway.

And Sonya is even worse. He's "heard from military". Okay..... Well a birdie told me that Obama is an alien and that drones are controlled by the illuminati.

With respect to California vs. Indiana, I already tried to clarify and you didn't answer my question. I would assume you'd apply your opinions to your voting rights in the state where you live. Maybe I'm wrong in that assumption, I don't know. But if you're internal justification for police having military grade weaponry is that they need it to defend against guns that aren't even legal in the state where you live, I felt it my duty to inform you as a fellow Californian that those guns are not legal here, in case you didn't already know.

Still nobody can give me a reasonable argument as to why we need helicopter drills firing machine gun blanks over a heavily populated city, why local police need MRAP's and other military gear or why we need local police instilled with the military mindset and tactics. Because all of those things are happening.

The real issue is that the state is distributing information and threat assessments to local PD and other government agencies about the threat of "right-wing extremists." Now they do this for Eco-terrorists who are liberals as well but the disturbing part about their focus on the right-wing portion is that they label the upside down flag and the "don't tread on me" jack as extremist paraphernalia. Which it is not and has historical meaning. The fact is a majority of even current military have no idea what the upside down flag means.

They include in these reports people who know their rights and those who believe in the constitution as well. The irony is that the people these memos and briefs are meant for took the same oath that the vets and constitutionalists in most cases took, the "right-wing extremists and veterans." So its oath keepers being warned about other oath keepers.

I didn't buy into anything hook line and sinker.. I can plainly see that the aforementioned is happening. Just because you put your head in the sand and wish it all away doesn't make it so.
