I really like Alfonzo. After watching the unedited bundy footage, I don't think he said anything racist. he used some not so politically correct out-dated words, but what do you expect from a cattle rancher on a farm.... This is the only video I have seen on this, so I have not reached a personal conclusion on whether he is a racist or not, this analysis does not include any blood moon comments, I have not seen any footage on that either

I said based on what I saw in the unedited video, he did not appear to be a racist, but that I have not seen any other unedited videos to discredit this.
This video reminds me of a report I watched in the Obama/McCain elections. In it, a reporter did some door to door canvasing of how people are going to vote. He went to the door of a senior couple and asked the wife. She was unsure and yelled back in to her husband who responded, "The nigger!"
She told the reporter, "We'll be voting for the nigger."
The story then became about how McCain can't even rely on the racist white vote to win, ignoring the important point that no self-respecting racist would ever vote a black man in as president. Were these people ignorant? Yes. Were they bigoted? Yes. Were they racist? Not really. Unless it makes for a fun angle in your story.
After watching those videos i have to agree I don't think his comments were racist. Ignorant and bigoted, yes, but when you grow up in times where that is acceptable and have a limited education, old habits die very hard.

Depends on your definition of racism. At this point racism in the popular use just means you have non-mainstream opinions about race. To be blunt, everyone between the center and the right has had that conversation about race before. With no judgment on either ideology intended here, the left wing does have a strong hold on academia and media. What that means is you emphatically don't want to have that conversation on camera regardless of where it goes.
There's actually a pretty nuanced discussion on race out there, and the alleged debate between the ultralib "the only differences are the ones you see lol" and neo-nazi Stormfront faggotry is a false dilemma that's been pretty good at promoting social stability. Different scientific fields tend to lean one way or another depending on their specialization, and there's a lot of differences in measured outcome that we can't really explain yet. I'll explain why below, but it suffices to say for now that the most useful perspective on race, for our society, is the ultralib one.
Unfortunately this same ideology that has been so useful in progressing race-relations over the past hundred years means that you can appeal to certain beliefs that are considered mainstream by the body politic and, regardless of whether your argument is good or bad, end the conversation by pointing out that someone holds a heterodox belief. In truth, the progressive opinion on race was institutionalized in the west largely because an international industrial/post-industrial economy works better when you don't encourage the idea that everyone is different and therefore potentially dangerous or irrational. Mercantilist economies and despotic governments work the exact opposite way most of the time and that's why they institutionalize racism and class systems, but that's another drunken rant altogether. In layman's terms, you're worse at buying and selling shit to people you hate, and it's hard as fuck to run a multicultural society without instilling an almost knee-jerk revulsion to any form of race hatred or prejudice. This economic might and monopoly on intellectual capital are the things that make our society powerful, and they're only possible if you discourage the idea of an exclusive society, so naturally we gravitate toward ideas that encourage them, regardless of whether they're correct or have destructive secondary effects. In short, don't say racist shit on camera, asshole.
With that said, let me once again assure you that a 70 year old rancher from rural Nevada who says "Niggo" probably has some opinions about race that most of you would find offensive. Libertarians he is not your John Galt, and it won't serve you well to pretend that he is. He lacks the discipline you need in an exemplar of your ideology if he's saying shit like that on camera, and your long game works better if you stick to guys like Gary Johnson and to a lesser degree Ron Paul, and avoid being seen defending guys like Bundy who challenge government legitimacy, tote guns around, and say shit most people consider racist, regardless of what your personal definition of the word is.
