When I was in eastern turkey it was the same kinda stuff. There'd be 6~ lane traffic and it had a mind of its own. You could sit there and watch it go from 3:3 to 1:5 lane traffic back and forth... almost like some hive mind. There were times I had to close my eyes if I was in a taxi. You'd be going headlong at an oncoming bus and merge into traffic on the left or right at the last second. Totally natural to them. Scared the bejeezus out of me. I had a hard enough time figuring out how to drive on the left side of the road in England...
