Lol, off topic but the VA just said I am no worse than when i initially got rated at 10% for service connected disability. No disability increase even though i cant even work at mcdonalds now and shit in a bag with severe not mild symptoms persisting. And the government wonders why its getting more and more pushback from people.
I wish some of you had to navigate the government the way vets do. Would change a lot of your perspectives about these types of things. We have to contact congressmen to even get what we deserve from the VA who supposidly provide us with excellent service. Now i have to burn another 8 months to get this changed and get what i rate, meanwhile it keeps getting more expensive to live and the economy sucks.

Modernizing the VA and increasing disability benefits based off of inflation are Progressive talking points. Have you changed the channel from Fox to MSNBC?

I watch both, and it would work much like it does now. Thats like asking who would build the roads. Look up the libertarian anwser to that and relate that to your question. There is your answer. Its all in the contracts. I contracted with the federal government, this is them not holding up their end of the deal because they are the fed and can often get away with it. In a free market system if a company did that they would be blacklisted.

I've read some of the reports on the VA, specifically those relating to medical care that veterans receive and it's fucking disgraceful and a massive /fail by our government. Seems like a combination of lack of resources and incompetent management that isn't held accountable. Heads should fucking roll.

Privatized roads means you have to pay to use them and if you don't pay then you can't drive. If that's the system you want for the VA then how can you pay the fees if you are disabled?

The fees were paid during my service. If you dont fight, you dont get the healthcare. If you don't pay for the roads, you dont get to drive on them. Pretty simple. I seem to remember you saying america is "pay to play" lol. Same shit, i provided a service, they contracted with me that healthcare and disability if need be were part of it and thats it. The VA was really created to curb the costs of this contract. If they really cared about the "warriors" we'd all be going to cedar Sinai on their dime. Instead we in the VA system recieve charity care from them, aka the federal government recieves charity care for its vets from cedar and others.

Honestly, you're probably getting the health care that you paid for. If you had the top care from Cedars-Sinai, you probably would not have been making much as a soldier, the majority of it going towards medical deductions. Unless I'm misinterpreting how your system works.
Similar shit is going on up in Canada. A lot of the vets coming back from Afghanistan are mental cases and suicide rates are through the roof, mostly thanks to poor mental health care options. Soldiers are paid to die, be it on the battlefield or in the homeland.
