Suddenly conservatives feel really compassionate towards the plight of black women when making a irrelevant analogy in an attempt to prove a point. Pretty sure you all would have been on the wrong side of that issue if you lived during her time.

That is as non-violent as the police doing the same thing right back at them from the beginning and everyday across the nation. There was no shooting involved so there was no violence at all except on the part of the police in the beginning of the story, that incident is what compelled all these people to show up.

So its okay to have police drawing down on unarmed individuals everyday since its state sponsored, but when a civilian does the same thing its a violent act? so governmental monopoly on force you are okay with and promote. necessary evil?

Again, comparing what police do(uphold laws) with what these redneck militias did(protected a lawbreaker by threat/acts of violence) is not an adequate analogy.

Gfist, you sound like a maniac.

If you don't understand the necessity of an armed police force charged with the obligation to enforce the laws of this nation then you're too far gone to have a reasonable conversation with.

Just because a government or state says something is legal does not make it ethical. All centralized government is force, if you do x, x will happen to you because we said so. These "redneck militias" as you call them are nothing more than people, the government employees tasked with enforcing laws are nothing more than people.

I wouldn't have done what those "rednecks" did simply for self preservation reasons. I would pick a better battle to have, more weighted in my favor. Regardless of what your position is you have to give them mad respect for standing up for themselves against overwhelming odds, whether you agree with them or not.

All statists are against freedom. This is a logical, rational, and empirically tested fact. Necessary evil? I'm not convinced. One thing is for sure though, the power of the state is growing exponentially. I'm sure none of you enjoy the NSA spying on everything you do. This is just a small push back by a group of people against one issue, what underlies all this is much bigger.

I'm not a maniac, I know a lot of them though. I helped save the lives of many Iraqi's who I could have just wasted if I wanted too because my state said I had the monopoly on force.

That's weird, you see her as a black woman but I see her as an American..I guess that's just be being radical

You couldn't sound more disingenuous. You do realize that colorblindness is racist, right?? You also realize I was being facetious??

Oh... Well when MLK said to judge people based on their character and not the color of their skin I must have missed the caveat that says 'unless it's a black person.' Sorry, I had no idea, I should've done my research

Wait, are you being facetious right now?

There's a very distinct difference between not judging a person purely by their skin color and recognizing multiculturalism. Faces are neither indistinguishable or American flags.
