Mofo Fly]...
give it to your friend from Harvard.. Harvard wrote it & I am sure he can understand it.
You claim to be a smart person so apply your smarts buddy.. several of those lines are fired directly at you & sum you up perfectly.. (I'm not saying that as an asshole or to be an asshole to you just pointing out the facts..)
Fly, you're an idiot sometimes, not trying to be an asshole. The ONLY thing you know about me is what you've learned from bullshitting with me in coms and what you think you've gleaned about me from reading these forums. You wouldn't have the first clue how to "sum me up" because you don't know me, at all really. A perfect example is this:

YOU : Your son currently enrolled here in the California Public Education System.. answer to YOURSELF (don't even post it here) what your thoughts & feelings are on that.. Stop & think about that one for more than just a moment sir.. its directly related to your son.
How do you know my son is enrolled in the public school system? To my knowledge, you and I have never discussed the schools our kids go to. You've drawn a conclusion based on assumption without bothering to ask fact finding questions. You know that's called ignorance right?
So you don't think religion is a form of control? The very fact that you wrote that blurb about "destroying the church" just shows me how truly ignorant you are. For starters, for a very long period of time, the Roman Catholic Church held more power than any form of government that existed. How does that fit into your little plan? Power is power Fly. People that don't have it want it. Those that have it want to retain it. Simple as that. Have you read the book The 48 Laws of Power? If not, you should. In any case, the mentalities of the people at the highest levels of power within the church at the time of it's peak power are no different than mentalities of the people with the most power now. Anyway, religion started as a tool to explain the fundamental question every human being has asked themselves at one point or another, where did we come from? But over time, it evolved into a system of control during the time the church was really powerful. You must do these things we tell you and live your life how we tell you, or you will lose favor with the imaginary omnipotent man in the sky and go to the bad place when you die. Seriously bro, fuck all that. I think overall, religion is a positive thing if people actually live by the generally positive principles it espouses. There's nothing wrong with being good to your brother. However, I know the difference between right and wrong. I know I'm doing wrong when I do it. I don't need somebody else's list of rules to tell me how to live my life or how to be a good person.
Secondly, how exactly would people's "faith" in the magic man in the sky protect them from this evil group of control freaks you speak of? Is the power of prayer going to free them from the evil clutches of the "bad men"? That sort of begs the question of why "they" would have any interest in destroying the church or give a single solitary flying fuck what sort of magic beings people believe in. This whole argument and all your premises in general hold no logical water Fly. You make dumb arguments, I point out their flaws in logic, you basically respond with, "SEE!!!! They knew that's what you'd think and you're doing exactly what they want!!!"
I'm not going to get into a theological debate with you Fly, I already said that. I believe in what I can see and what can be proven. For example, if I climb to the top of the Sears Tower and jump off, I WILL hit the ground and I WILL die. No amount of praying or faith is going to magically change the scientific laws of physics and motion for me. Similarly, there is hard scientific data that supports the big bang theory. You know that pesky theory that uses everything we know about the known universe that suggests the universe is billions of years old and that stars and planets took millions of years to form? But hey, if you instead want to believe that the magic man in the sky created everything before you in seven days, more power to you brother. I used to like fairy tales too, when I was a kid.
Your final point is just as laughable as all the rest. If the whole goal has been discourage technical innovation, then how, for fuck's sake, does technology keep improving? Why are "they" allowing that? Is this "them" just luring us into trap? When does the end game occur?
I'm taking off now for the majority of the weekend. Have fun with your manifesto Fly.
