Yea I wouldn't remove my weapon either. Far too much risk for my comfort. At the end of the day, a cop's word is always valued more than a civilian in court.

7 years and 3 deployments with USMC infantry later most guys i know, have pretty much the view points ive espoused here. Trusted with lives, millions of dollars worth of gear. Now my government wants to tell me i can't have a machinegun and grope me at the airport. And that i should have instant obedience to the commands of some cop who has less training than me (most likely) and shot 20,000 rounds less than i have (highly likely.) we (at least when i was around) treated the iraqi's by in large better than we get treated here. During the occupation phase that is.

Thats kind of why we have regulation though, you may be qualified enough and can handle the responsibility of a gun but not everyone can or should even try. Just because we have laws or regulation doesnt make us a nazi police state with monopoly on force and with anti-christ obama and whatever other tea party sayings you have ready to rock.

Thats how the government maintains control through, through force and cohersion (at the barrel of a gun.) Regulations and laws are just layered on to establish government and its entities, allowing them to maintain a monopoly on force and cohersion. And we all accept it and play along, giving it its power. Without compliance laws dont really mean anything. Take the Connecticut (i think?) residents who gave a big FU to the registration law that got passed by not registering their firearms. Too many did it and now that law effectually means nothing until government figures out a way to get back at them.

I don't give Ron Paul shit, I know why he believes what he does. I've almost never found one of his followers who didn't just repeat him verbatim with no idea why Paul believes it though lol.

What if all concealed carry permit holders were required to equip a personal recording device when they carried? Then there would always be objective evidence as to whether or not shooting someone was actually self defense. You could make it a crime to not have an operable recording device when carrying a concealed weapon. Just a thought.
