All evidence that I have seen, suggests that states with strong pro gun laws have much less crime than states that all but eliminate the right to carry.
No. Rolo linked a study, and I have seen many, many others that all conclude you cannot correlate gun rights to crime rights. Meaning that permitting open carry/concealed carry does not result in a safer society. At the same time, restricting these privileges does not result in a safer society (Rolo made a similar comment previously).
Outside of civil litigation, it's an emotional/philosophical argument and nothing else.
