G-Fist]Anybody read the new NYC law? That will come to the rest of the states in the next decade im sure.. Or they will try to push it through when another tragedy pops up so they can get another knee-jerk reaction out of the uninformed masses...
What I think is the most ridiculous part about that NYC law is that you must have an instant background check to buy ammo. I assume the dealers will still charge the 20-30 bucks for the background check making an already expensive box of ammo not even worth shooting for recreational use. I know some politians in CA want to do the same thing.
Vermithrax]Rifle. I bought him the Savage Mark II. Wanted to start with a bolt action rifle for 2 reasons:
1. I hope he enjoys marksmanship and hunting. If he does, he should learn on bolt action.
2. I think bolt action is the best option for him to safely learn the mechanics of a gun.
He's a lefty, so I had to get that shit special ordered.
Can't argue with that. I also feel most savage bolt actions are the best bolt action for the price...hell, I think they are probably better than the price in most cases. I got my start on a beautiful 60s model ruger 10/22. I think it is awesome that you are trying to get him involved in shooting sports/hunting. It seems to be a dying sport. We keep having extended seasons because we have too many damn deer.
