Rifle. I bought him the Savage Mark II. Wanted to start with a bolt action rifle for 2 reasons:
1. I hope he enjoys marksmanship and hunting. If he does, he should learn on bolt action.
2. I think bolt action is the best option for him to safely learn the mechanics of a gun.
He's a lefty, so I had to get that shit special ordered.
