As for California. Good luck getting a CCW permit. Unless you fear for your life, they wont issue you one. Also, if you wish to transport a firearm in your car. The gun must be in a locked box in the trunk and its ammo must be locked in a separate container in the trunk making it totally useless in case you need it.

In California they want you to be a victim who is required to rely on the substandard police.

Is that the new rule for it being in your car? Few years back i had a CHP officer tell me it was cool to keep the gun in the glove box and magazine in the center console because it consititued two seperate containers? Anyways thats how i roll, glad i do too because i had to diffuse a road rager who chased me 100mi in the middle of the night with my piece over xmas..

The dumbfuck followed me into a gas station and blocked me in with his wife and kid in the car too..

Maybe I misinterpreted what I had read on another site. Here is something with some penal codes.

Here are the rules, with citations to the statutes.

You cannot carry any LOADED firearm in a vehicle in a public place or street in a city, or in public or on a street in an unincorporated area where shooting is prohibited. (Pen C 12031.)

You cannot carry a firearm (loaded or unloaded) which can be concealed on the person concealed in a vehicle. (Pen C 12025.)

A firearm which is carried openly (e.g., laying openly on the passenger seat) or in an unconcealed holster is not concealed. A firearm which is in a locked trunk (Pen C 12026.1) or a locked container (Pen C 12026.2) is also not concealed, but you do not have to have it in a locked container if it is not otherwise concealed. Note that the glove compartment or storage compartment in the passenger area of a car does NOT qualify as a "locked container." A firearm is concealed if any part of it is concealed (e.g., part is tucked between the seats).

I like Missouri law, carry concealed in your car if you want, doesnt matter. If someone tries to get into your car without your permission, you can treat it like your home and use the castle doctrine law.
