I have a Sig P226 9MM, love it. Highly recommend. Glocks are cheaper if you don't want to spend as much.

9mm and .40S&W is mostly supersonic(unless buying weaker subsonic rounds), while .45 is subsonic unless you load up some crazy +p rounds. So .45 is not quite as loud. That is something else to consider. The .45 is about 850-900 fps(most rounds). It moves slow like firing some lug nuts at someone. It really comes down to personal preference.

Take her to the range and give her a full size 1911. I am confident she would like the .45. I haven't met a woman who hasn't.

On another note...if any of you are looking for something specific you can't find, let me know and I will look for it. I can arrange for it to be picked up at your local dealer but you wil have to pay the transfer fee. I would give my best deal to any LoD.

Firearms may only be shipped to a licensed dealer (FFL Holder).

If you live in California make sure the gun is legal in your state via http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/

Basically just make sure it is legal in your area before hand.

Also at this current time I am having hell finding the handguns I am asked about. Here in a month or so things should settle down though.

I love you too ranghar! I love my Sig so much. My hands are big and my fingers are long but the p227 fits like OJ's glove before it got bloody.

If you do get her a .45 make sure she spends extra time at the range with it, it's not a gun to just stick in the purse and forget about. You are going to dump a decent amount of money to get her proficient with it. The recoil is not much, but is enough to throw you off of center mass after one shot.

Damn, thanks for all the info guys. Apparently I have to go take a handgun safety test here in California before I can buy one. Godamn liberals keeping me from being the gun toting, nutjob, white trash I so desire.

Yeah, apparently you have to Re-certify it every 5 years too, just in case you forgot your training on how not to shoot yourself, or your friend in the face on accident.

While doing a bit of studying for it, I think I read the "Honorably discharged military personnel" are exempt from this rule. Might want to look into it further before you waste your time studying shit you don't need to. Or ask Rolo he's an Ex-military commando badass with a handgun living in California.

To all you virgins, thanks for nothing.
