plex]its more about giving the player a sense of accomplishment with FPS games than keeping people paying monthly fees like in MMOs. Although MMOs have that same reward mechanism as well. What would BC2 devs gain from requiring people to "level up?" Nobody pays a monthly fee. It's about making the player base feel good about themselves and making a dynamic gaming experience. All the guns are basically the same and I haven't noticed much, if any of a difference from my level 1 assault gun to my m16...
You literally get gold stars for doing well in BC2. Remember how it felt when you get a gold star in your 4th grade English class?
In a day of playing I've already unlocked everything the assault class can unlock(I think).. so its not like the "grind" is killer anyway. I'm suprised you stoped playing long enough to type this......

i played last night for a bit, and they certainly have tweaked it quite a bit. i still think the grenade floats through the air a bit, but its definitely changed... i do like the new "dot" that appears so I have a reference point on where im throwing.
had no server connection problems, but i only connected to a few Hardcore servers and didnt really play too much on regular servers so i couldnt say for sure. didnt update PB or uninstall the beta either.
only played like 3 maps, but im digging it so far.

btw, i was having server problems last night,and i think i found a workaround that fixes the problem.
i would keep getting error messages that said " lost connection to game server" whenever i would click on a server. but the one thing i was doing was clicking on servers that had <20 ping. I read on some BFBC2 forums that its a glitch, and if you click on servers that have 50-60 ping, the error will go away. sure enough, once i tried that, i was able to join a game.
just fyi for those of us still having the problem.
