First off, let me state that I'm neither Republican, nor a Democrat. Issues dictate what side of the fence I'm forced to stand on when my vote counts. Truth is, I'm fairly displeased with both parties. That said, I've got a few questions for you proclaimed right wingers.

Are things getting worse? Job growth hasn't necessarily rebounded, but I don't think anyone with a reasonable understanding of economics could say that things were going to change overnight. Obama took office just over a year ago and I certainly can see that the hemorrhaging has stopped and things are beginning to stabilize.

In general, have taxes gone up under the Obama/Democratic regime? Nope. They most certainly haven't. If your issues preside more with the deficit spending, everyone knows that Obama didn't create that deficit, even if it will increase in order to help stabilize our economy and to address certain glaring issues. Fact is, the prior Democrat in office, Bill Clinton, left office with a substantial budget surplus. Under the ensuing Republican tenure, we accrued a substantial deficit that of course Obama inherited.

Have Democrats accomplished much since gaining office? No, they really haven't. Now there's a plethora of reasons why, but one of the most concrete is the fact that the Republicans have used the filibuster to an unprecedented degree to block even popular legislation. Most of you would think that it takes a simple majority to pass legislation. That isn't true. For instance, 60 votes are needed in the Senate. Not pointing fingers here, the Democrats have done the same in the past such as the Republican judicial nominations under the Bush regime. Change doesn't happen without bipartisanship.

Lets talk about the Tea Party Movement and the so called Obama backlash... I have one simple question, why is it 99% supported by 'whites'? Now I'm going on conjecture here, but lets assume that its nothing less than racial backlash for the fact that Obama is the first black president. Scoff if you will, but seriously, every single major civil rights hurdle that has been overcome in the past has been met with some kind of backlash as a result. The fact that Lyndon B. Johnson passed the first major civil rights bill in the 60's permanently changed the South from being predominantly Democratic to a conservative Republican bastion. I just can't help but feel everytime someone says, ".. more of the same shit from those goddamned liberals.." that what they really want to say is, "..thats what you get with a nigger in the White House."

Faust, you seem to indicate that Obama's approval rating has diminished. If carrying a 51% current approval rating is subpar to Bush's exit of less than 30%, help me with the math here. Like I said before, I'm neither Democrat nor Republican. I think both parties are the epitomy of inefficiency and you can take your pick from either party as to which one will drive this country into ruin. Fact is, however, Democrats are at least trying to propose solutions as opposed to finger pointing. Whether or not I like their solutions, I can at least applaud the effort of the one party trying to get some work done on behalf of the American people, even if they're fucking morons.
