There have been some recent peer reviewed papers on autism being a genetic disease. The correlation that was made between autisms and vaccinations is widely accepted as false amongst the medical community. It just so happened that wide spread vaccinations was becoming common practice around the the same time that autism diagnosis was becoming more common. The statistics on autism growth is highly misleading when you consider the fact that people were labeled as just mentally retarded prior and that doctors became more familiar with the disease and how to label.
