I played some of the beta weekends.
The interface, graphics are great.
It was done well but it reminds me of WoW and all the PVP is done in the abyss and I will not play a game that does not have full loot and open pvp, LV is playing you should hook up with them if your going to play.

I am going to continue to stick with Darkfall.

Man what happened to LV seriously.

The game is polished out of the gates, A lot of the top guilds are playing. The PVP is good but there is no item loot or FFA pvp except in certain zones.

You could really say what happend to LoD since only 10-15% of are playing darkfall

If Aion had item loot and open PVP I would have given it more of a look......

Hey we had 25+ LoD in vent yesterday(both severs) you should try coming in Vent sometime.

I am in there almost every day, but I am not really not trying to debate LoD's adoption rate I am pointing out that due to a shitty role out and an underdeveloped game that many LoD are not playing it. I can understand LV and multiple other guilds avoiding or quit the game due to those circumstances.

Darkfall has improved leaps and bounds since then and I can see some guilds giving it anther shot after transfers, including our own.

I am really looking forward to transfer's I feel it is going to be like the first day a new Shadowbane server open's and that kind of action is legendary.

Getting back to Aion, at this moment there is no official guild push to play and we have brushed it off due to it's carebear loot and PVP rules.

I think the "large amount of LoD" that arent playing DF arent playing any mmo regardless, has much less to do with them not liking the game and more to do with getting OLD. Only a small % of LoD that attempted this game past beta gave it a thumbs down and didnt like it.

I will do the research and give you the exact number in our weekly secret LoD meeting.

Granted I've only played a little bit of it, it seems very solid. Already has a huge player base.

My only gripes obviously are the pigeon holing of having to select a class, no open world pvp, and the game progression is quite linear.

On the other hand is does offer superb graphics, huuuuuuuge amounts of players both to play with and fight against, and programming that wasn't coded by a down-syndromed greek and his pet chimp.

The PvP is pretty fun, granted there is no risk vs reward. But nowadays a successful mmorpg will not have full loot and a large player community, the two wont ever comingle like they did in UO.

I watched a few reviews of it on youtube. It's interesting to see all these new MMO's have WoW qualities to them. The interface resembled parts of the WoW interface but had minor tweeks and the artwork definitely has a WoW touch to it.

Other than the WoW stuff, the game looks pretty fun. I could casually play a game without full loot and pvp if we had a few guildies playing it, but the characters are too cookie cutter to draw me in. Not really being able to have a customized character is a huge turnoff for me in the MMO gaming world.

The PVP, while not full loot, looks cool. Your legion (guild) can go to an area called the Abyss at lvl 25 and you take over these castle structures and the longer you hold them the more points you get.

The PvP area looks fun, the world looks amazing, and the playerbase is huge...but there are a few things that won't make me buy the game.

I found these series of reviews from the guy to be helpful and entertaining:
