i just gave the majority of what little "extra" money i had to a friend to go towards a $2500 helmet for his 8 month old daughter who has a developemental problem going on with her skull. the back of her head is pretty much flat, and needs this helmet to reshape her melon. medicaid doesn't cover the cost of a helmet like this, and neither does his insurance from work. the guy has gone to the shriners (who i didn't think turned down anyone for anything when it comes to shit like this) and they turned him down because it's 8 months instead of 6 months. which due to the paperwork and fine print between insurance and medicaid it's taken this long to go from "here's a solution" to "but we can't help you with that" so now he has to figure out how to pay for it out of his own pocket before there's no time left for the process to complete and have a chance of being successful.

from what you post scabie, this situation, and the general consensus of responsible adults who have what you call the "the government can never do anything right" mentality..is more of a result of personal experiences and specific situations that help *poor* responsible adults make points about how gay getting fucked over is to what they consider friends, or in this case, on the internet.

all this kind of reminds me of that movie Brazil, that john clease (however you spell his last name) directed...with robert dinero in it, anyone remember that movie? if you haven't seen it, you should definitely download it.
