Yes and No... the open feild pvp would be fun while it lasted.. I think it would come to an end within about a 2 month time frame (which includes the time you take to get maxed out).. then all thats left is the seiges.. which would be fun at first if they were going to be anything but massive AoE spam.

I like individual challenges and legitimate team play.. I like counters and I like customizing character builds.. none of that seems to be available in DF.

And I hate team death match play.. I was beta testing the champions online game, awsome customization and arena/BG set up with a few open zones with FFA pvp.

In reality its just a big team death match, durring the arenas atleast. Got borring after a week, even with the unbelievable customization. Mostly because there was no challenge if you joined an arena with friends it was so easy to rape the other team because of coordination.

If that game ends up having arranged team arenas I'll pick it up for sure.

The thing is most of the people who are die hard DF fanboys put too much faith in full loot.. it really doesn't matter taking someoen elses shit.. I play games for the competition (regardless if its at a pro level or not) I don't play them for loot off mobs or players. It's nice to take something from someone when you kill them.. but it shouldn't be anyones main reason to play an MMO.. I mean if you want loot play WoW you get shinny purples.. if you want a challenge especially with competitive team play and character creating games like SB were way better.. guild wars was and is probably far superior as well.
