A troll in Internetspeak refers to an entity which involves itself in discussions purely for the purpose of disturbing other users and making itself feel important.

A troll usually has little or no interest in contributing to the development of the site in question and is interested in :

* Deliberately angering people.
* Breaking the normal flow of debate/discussion.
* Deliberately being annoying for the sake of being obnoxious.
* Making itself the main topic of interest or discussion.

It is probable that, for the troll, the last point is the most important. To this end it will post deliberately inflammatory messages which generate inflammatory responses; complain about being the victim of the inflammatory responses; endeavor to obtain allies against the discrimination it feels; turn on those same allies, etc. etc. The whole objective of the exercise being to make the troll feel that it is the most important thing on the site.

If a poster begins to post comments along the lines of, ?Can?t you see how stupid you all are?? or ?I keep laughing at all of you,? there is high probability that the poster is a troll.

Because the troll feeds on having its name mentioned or by generating debate or ill feeling, many internet users either ignore the troll completely or respond with the phrase, ?Don?t Feed the Troll.?

Some users engage in "Troll Baiting". In this unkind sport the objective is to turn the tables on the troll so that it becomes enraged. While mildly amusing in the short term it is rarely successful in driving the troll away.

Most importantly, trolls take away from productive work. The only ethical way to avoid this is to stop feeding the troll and go about your usual work.

seems like simple english is hard for you to understand....

What game do you play that isn't point and click.... or are you so cool that all you do is play pong...

Face it, you know yer argument was retarded because you have absolutely nothing left in your arsenal of why DF sucks/dying..

the reason why I dont play darkfall is because i simply dont have time for it... I got to work around 11am, dont come back till around 11pm mon-sat... I don't care if they remade UO officially with the best graphics out there i dont have time to play mmos right now its hard enough trying to catch me on yahoo yahtzee..

you're done here, you have nothing else to say thats even remotely worth saying, the only arguments you have now is "point and click game" which was easily taken care of..... you had a good troll run but youre done with.... move along now...

I'm constipated.... I couldn't give a shit.

So rain I'm just wondering.. do you enjoy DF so much because you can macro 24/7 and it gives you an edge to compete with people who actually are better at games than you?

Is that why you hate the game? If they fixed that one problem would you play it? No. So then whats the point of asking this? Your stupid. Next question.

It compiles into one of the aspects I hate about the game and that being the fact its more fun to macro than actually play the game.

Ok then what do you consider to be the best part about DF that has nothing to do with pvp/loot?

the world, i've never seen a better compiled world than darkfall. me and zelik used to explore all the time and constantly be like, wow that shits cool or damn thats a roleplayers dream right there.

to me, its never boring riding around, i still find new shit on ice when i go out pvping (yes i go on ice to pvp, our own back yard is full of it, even tho the game is dying) i and its amazing.

to me they perfected long travel time with good fillers, sure not many mob spawns but still the detail they put in the world is amazing, i think at max, and i've searched the whole darkfall world i've seen maybe 2 things that have been copy/pasted.

not good enough? need more?

The worlds definetly good.. it could probably be better but I definetly think they spent too much time in world design and not enough time in the skill system... but then again.. once you've seen it... kinda loses its value so riding around would have to get borring eventually.. I'd think by 3mo of retail you would have seen the whole thing no?

ya i've seen it all, maybe not everything but probably more than others.

but boring? not a bit, for being so long to travel places you dont see the same shit over and over, and when you do come to something you've seen before im usually like "oh guys check this out, shits badass looking, then you keep going"

now of course this doesnt apply with ice island, but same goes with any game, scenery stays the same, but to me iti doesnt get boring.

infact its kinda nice, seems like it takes less time to get places when you have an area mapped out in your head.

oh and as far as macroing, thats one of my favorite things about the game believe it or not, any other game, wow for instance, you have to play non stop to get high level, then log out and waste time sleeping/eating/working/fucking.

here when your ready to play you hop in your comp chair and go pvp, when your done you set up a macro and by the next day you probably have a new skill or spell. dont forget they rearranged spells now so u get them at odd numbers lke 35,40,60.

i accepted the grind long ago in other mmo's. this was the first game i could do my leveling away from the computer and spend the rest of the time pvping/farming gold.

3 months in any other MMO I'm sure you would have a maxed out char by now so you wouldn't even have to grind anymore.. and your computer wouldn't turn into a $2,000 macro.

I agree but if you where playing Shadowbane for this amount of time you would have probably rolled six different toons and the grind time for some people might have been similar.

Darkfall really fucked up by not implementing a Hard cap to begin with. That alone would have created much needed diversity. Them saying there will be a hard cap is stupid and them not implementing it from the beginning is even more stupid.

I still think the game can be a success if they address the skill system (add a hard cap for combat skills and add skills to balance), PVE (Create a fun environment for noobs and roleplayer so the world is more populated). Add more hitboxes.

I still enjoy playing the game as it is now but I do get sick of the shitty pings I get and am looking forward to the release of NA-1.
