I mostly solo pvp'd against 1 -3 odds most the time, depending on the situation.
It's a shit ton easier to sneak up on someone when it's just you, so you might need to sit back for 10-15 minutes observing people fighting before you jump in for the low stam ganks but it's worth it in the end. You can still find random singletons and stupid duos which is always fun to ambush. Those first 10 or so seconds of surprise can rack up a ton of damage.
I still highly recommend group pvp because there's not as much down time in between killing.
Solo pvp is either about finding someone who can go 1v1 or 1v2 or running into a situation where you can smash some PvE bitches after they run out of stam.
