Thought I read somewhere that it includes your video card, so if you are using the full capability of your video card at 512MB then that will be subtracted from the total RAM XP 32 bit can handle.

friend is currently running a similiar system with a core 2 duo and a 4850... 3 gigz

I doubt any game you play will even touch more than 2 gigs. But you can never go wrong with too much RAM, and since it's cheap who cares.

they actually make that card with 512 mb ram? how much did you pay for it? I thought the gddr3 ones were 512 and teh gddr5 were all 1gig.

Which solid state drive and cost? I want to get one but havnt decided which one yet.

Get 4gigs of memory and go with vista 64. your comp will run vista without any problems
