Hell, I only buy organic cage free chicken etc

There are pros and cons to organic free ranged. The organic is tougher meat because the chickens aren't killed at a young age like the non-organic ones. They also contain more dark meat because of muscle use. Organic contains more fat, twice as much cholesterol, and less omega 3 than non-organic. This is because they arn't allowed to give organic raised chicken vitamin enhanced feed. Organic contains lower levels of anti-oxidants as well. I am also going to say the price of organic is a con. The pros being that they arn't injected with antibiotics which might(might being the keyword) be linked to antibiotic immunity in humans, and are treated better than the alternative. When it comes down to it organic just isn't as tasty.

Tougher meat? Maybe the particular chicken you ate. I see no difference of quality of meat from organic to non organic the several times I've eaten organic to hormone induced chicken.

I won't even go into the absurd amount of health concerns possible if you eat chickens that use the "vitamin enhanced" feed you speak of. Check it out for yourself: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken#Human_concerns

Why take a risk? There's also arsenic to worry about which is sometimes (yes, only sometimes) found in their growth hormones.

That's an opinion. I saw the article you pulled your information from here . There were also two other mentions I found of organic chicken tasting far more superior to hormone induced chicken. I'd be happy to pop them up for ya.

In the end, it's what you want to do and feel is best for you. I feel that animals should be treated respectfully and we should also respect our bodies by what we put into them. I'm definitely for the consumption of meat and if people decide to not eat meat, then that's fine, but to argue against fair treatment of animals and to argue for food with stuff in it known to cause disease doesn't make sense to me.

That I can agree with 100%. I always respect people who stand firm in their beliefs.

Now beef...that is my passion. Freshly slaughtered farm raised cattle is better than getting head from Keira Knightley. We slaughter a few each year. It is always my favorite time...much better than christmas.
