I agree with Goldmund.

Blaming "video games" for this type of happening either comes from a liberal or security-mom/soccer-mom type of conservatism.

liberal and conservative talking points are generally tied to what side of the political fence you are on. I think of liberal/conservative as an ideology, one doesn't have to talk about politics when referring to an ideology.

Although one can't bring up a single controversial subject that hasn't been at the top of a political agenda, so this subject may have been a political one, but it wasn't a delusional one.

Common sense has been replaced with the enactment of the 1988 federal ban on lawn darts. Long story short, this type of legislation has spiraled out of control ever since with more government control/regulation.

Whether you want to involve politics or not, all the above is becoming a political matter because our local, state and national legislators use our mob ruled system to gain "feel-good" votes. This incident alone might enact more feel-good legislation or control on video games.

Now both sides use our legislative body to pass fascist laws like the smoking ban, seat belt laws, lawn dart ban and the trans-fat bans.

I do think many liberals and conservative soccer-moms would correlate this moms death to Halo3. Common sense has become subjective.

I do not think Goldmund's statement was delusional. I would gladly explain my point further in a PM.
