Based off of George R. R. Martin's fantasy series.

I know not all of you are into the fantasy genre, reading or "book-learnin" in general so you guys can ignore this.

This could be a truly epic series.

the difference is now they have actually agreed to pay for a pilot. Not just negotiations. I heard about it a long time ago as well but in the TV business I guess it's something like 90% of possible shows never get funding for the pilot. So i didn't hold my breath.

This is great news.

lol

i posted this on one of the sites he supposedly reads like an hour ago.

Martin has posted hardly anything about the expected upcoming volume in his series. I know the last and the next were originally going to be published as one book (something that pissed me off when it didn't come to pass) so it stands to reason that the next book is done or very nearly so.

I would think that upon the possibility of his series being turned into a cable epic he probably laid low awaiting the results. I expect that when it suits him he will be able to crank the remaining volumes in far less time than his original books were published.

And now my rant:

Mr. Martin I am extremely irritated with you. You have been stretching the release of your latest book saying you don't have the time to get it finished but in that time you've published multiple unrelated novels. If you wanted to work on something else for awhile I wish you would have been forthcoming enough to admit it so us fans aren't waiting with baited breath.

I also am disappointed that FEAST was so pathetically short. I waited 4 years for a book I read in a day and it wasn't up to par with the previous ones. (in my ever so humble opinion). I feel like you are cheating me and other fans out of our hard earned dollars, euros, francs, marks, rubles and pounds. I spent 30 dollars on FEAST and knowing that you split one book into 2 or possibly 3 yet charged the same amount for it irked me.

So in summary shame on you Mr. Martin. Shame.
I love your work by the way

Oh and to whomever mentioned Robin Hobb YES! God she is phenomenal. I've never read a fantasy series that actually made me emotional like hers.

I just finished The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I highly recommend this book and eagerly await the second in the series.

all done.

I am watching both. True Blood is a great show but Sookie is getting annoying as fuck. This last episode I wanted to reach through the TV and smack the bitch.

And I am pissed they killed off Jason's girl. I liked seeing her nakkid!

agreed about Sookie. She's a little cunt.

overall I think last episode was a snorefest, but otherwise the series has been OK.
