Which means they are seriously 6 years away. Every MMO company lies and says 1-2 year release date when they first put up their website. It is because if it said Release date 2012 you would blow it off and not bookmark the page for another 4 years. No bookmarking the page means no website hits, no website hits means no financial backers, no financial backers = no product.
Remember when darkfall beta was going to be released in 2 weeks in 2003? Same thing. They needed actual time to create the game after the hype was built up. Not saying they CAN'T release it earlier, but it would be utter unfunctional\incomplete garbage.
It took Lineage 2 about 3 years to turn the unreal engine into an mmo capable engine. Hopefully it is better than it was back then, but just because you have a pre-licensed engine doesn't always make shortcuts easier <img src="/~stretch/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
