so I've played a bit. my highest char is only lvl 31, but I'm completely unmotivated to even log in at this point
I dig the feel of the game and the idea of a mature rated mmo is cool. Also the fact that there is an FFA server and the game seems to be somewhat pvp oriented is nice. And I definitely appreciate the fact that you can see titties and nipples.
But the actual game play in my opinion is boring, broken, buggy, and pointless, and if I ever play an mmo again where you have to wait through a loading screen 4-5 times just go in and out of a tavern in the city I'm already in just to complete some asinine Fedex quest I think I'll just quit gaming for good. The game feels like a 2008 version of Shadowbane, but without any of the fun parts. And in 2008 I don't feel like wasting time/money on a shitass game that offers nothing but promises of future improvements.
I guess I'm a least glad I tried it just so I can know that it sucks and I'm not missing anything by not playing it. I don't plan on logging in again and my free month isn't even up.
Anyhow. Waitin fer Darkfall.

The big thing you are hearing these days is "the grind isnt bad and the quests are easy"....however, you need to get to level 80 to be done....ugh.... this is just my opinion however....i can totally see how people like it (e.g. 95% of LoD).

Sure AoC is like WoW in many respects. I just think Funcom dumbed the quest aspect down and made the game less focused on questing. Like SB, I think higher levels tend to group and grind/contest over areas that are ideal. I remember, initially, in SB that it wasn't necessarily a quick jump to get to R7 (or whatever).
Simply put, AoC isn't what we've all been waiting for. It was the fact that most of us got tired of waiting for DF. It was a 'doable' enough game for most of us to sink our teeth into. You really don't start to see the game for what it is till you reach higher levels (50+).

oh totally.....hence why i am not calling someone an "idiot" for playing it....i can TOTALLY see how someone could really like the game....
part of my problem is time is limited, and the concept of grinding 80 levels is just not appealing whatsoever

wtf, are you sure you got higher than level 20?

This post correlates with about 2 weeks since Dirty told me you started playing. That is how long snarf plays before saying it sucks. Then he will get bored and be playing it again in a week. Just watch. Same old snarf.

The thing is i just log in and play until i am bored. Thats the way to do it. Don't force yourself to play if it isn't doing anything for you.
