You missed his point. Our enemies are terrorist fanatics. One would expect them to torture.
Our leaders are not religious fanatics, so one would not expect them to torture, since torture is an atrocity.
Actually I didn't miss his point, I'm surprised you interpreted it as such. My question was rhetorical.
Some might say our leaders are religious fanatics too, but not in the sense where their ideology encourages killing innocent people because of their belief or non-belief, so in that sense I agree. But severing fingers is a whole different level of "torture" and a whole different level of atrocity. With that said, I'm not saying one justifies the other, I'm just reporting the news and pointing out the hypocrisy of outrage for one, but not the other.
