have you read these? Witch and Godslayer Chronicles
James Clemens. Really good!!! I read his witch series after reading some reviews and was REALLY impressed. Then read the next series hes writing the Godslayer, and he has 2 books out now. Even better......They were not hard to get into at all. First few chapters were kind of rough, because its that whole "little kid hero" bullshit. But that changes REAL fast....check them out.

Hey dirty definitely check out the "Icewind dale trilogy" if you prefer a bit of old school Dungeons and Dragons style book.
Its well written and the author is very good.
I'd also recommend "The wheel of time" Trilogy.
Anyone have any comments on this series?
Each book is about 1000 pages... buts its pretty intense.
Let me know.

If you like sorta light reading, good action scenes, fairly good storyline then R.A. Salvatore is for you, and The Drizzt series will keep you occupied for a while if you havent read it yet. I just finished the newest book I think there are like 22 books in the series or something.
Now if you are hardcore and like In Depth Description and a storyline that really makes you interested. The Wheel Of Time series is for you. This series is fucking awesome, its been compared to LOTR, but I think its better. The Author just died of a horrible disease, but he reportedly finished the last book before that happened.

It will be finished
"Robert Jordan had repeatedly said that the main sequence would conclude with the twelfth book, with a working title of A Memory of Light. Numerous times, including most recently on ComicCon 2006, he said he would hold to this statement even if it has to be 1500 pages long. Before his death Jordan had planned to write two more short prequel novels, an encyclopedia, and possibly two or three other side-plot novels. [2]
With Robert Jordan's death, on September 16, 2007, the future of the series is in question. His cousin Wilson stated in Robert Jordan's blog that the story has gone into either word processor or audio, and that Jordan's wife Harriet and Wilson have now heard the entire story. They plan on publishing A Memory of Light per Jordan's wishes. [3]"

The Dark Tower (King) series is also quite good. I jumped into sci-fi and picked up the ender series (Orson Scott Card). I definitey wasn't the biggest sci-fi fan but Ender's game and the whole series was awesome

If you guys are in the mood for a science fiction series, I recommend Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy written by Timothy Zahn. This trilogy is exceptional, and I 'm not a huge fan of science fiction novels (though I do like Star Wars). I literally did nothing but read until I finished all three of these books.
