I criticized president Bush on many of his policies (open borders, ROE in Iraq, and the "war on terror" hysteria). I admit I have partaken in partisan bickering and even changed my opinion periodically.
I helped (door to door) elect a Democrat to office.
I am currently helping a Republican into office.
I am an independent with conservative not Republican beliefs.
I did not say humans "can't" control the earth's environment. That is spin and only O'Reilly could deter that statement. I am a conservationist by all means.
Speaking of vision. I am proactive, so I physically help elect people that I agree with on issues. For example I was key in helping elect a Democrat that agreed in the 4 year assessment cycle. While the Department of Revenue pushed elected officials in my state to switch to annual update. Maintaining the 4-year cycle softened the tax burden on the citizens of my county. Unlike you Californians where you pay tax based on the original purchase price of the property ( Prop 13). Washintonians have to revalue all property annually or every 4 years to 100% market value and tax accordingly.
How about you, what have you done? Filling out a ballot I guess in your case is proactive, but what else have you done? You going to run for office? Anything tangible other than spewing someone else's socialistic ideas on political/gaming boards?
It is definitely possible that we have an impact on our temperatures, but it has yet to be proven. And I laugh at the hysteria of "global warming" and the increasing fad of it. We are more likely to fall as a nation due to our foreign policy and the islamo-fascistic behaviors of the middle east than a warming cycle of the earth, possibly encouraged by human interaction.
What steps would you take to punish China for their not only increasing decimation of endangered species, but their increasing nonactive approach to environmental & pollution problems. How would that foreign policy go?
Just curious, who you are supporting in 2008?
