Original TFC though was kind of cartoonish too, not as blatant as this one, but it wasn't real by any means.

Trust me, the cartoonish nature of it makes it that much more fun...
it is VERY polished and good....it is hands down the most complete "beta" i have ever played...
so worth the DL and money

this game is a ton of fun, I've always taken game play > looks and the mechanics and balance of this game make it very enjoyable...
It would be a hell of a lot more fun playing with someone I knew

rolo, rainman, soulmaster, pizlenut, mind, myself, khell.. BA is going to get it when he "stops being lazy".
The game has some great potential for a group of guys to play as a team to just completely dominate.
The graphics.. are really cartoonish and very noticable the first couple hours you play the game.. the longer you play the less important or even noticibale it becomes... I don't even notice how cartoonish it looks anymore.. Obviously you can still see it just saying it doesn't matter at this point.
As mentioned the game is a solid beta (besides the graphic change and a few class changes they didn't have to do all that much to the game so if you liked the original you should like this).
The fact no class gets gernades makes the game alot more fun and adds alot more skill to the game imo...
People complain about scouts needing a nerf, but scouts don't even generate that many kills (if any) it more or less comes down to people needing to get more skill to kill them... I don't see them as being over powered.
Pyros got alot of love since the original.. if those are ontop of you.. just get ready to respawn lol.
I think the coolest thing is there are 8 different classes.. and since the games so balanced you really just pick the class that suites your playstyle best and if your getting owned by a specific class you can counter them by just changing your class when you die.
Played the game a couple of days now.. I'm impressed and it's an enjoyable game, I would recommend it if you like FPS and are looking to kill some noobs I already get called a hacker...

this game is totally awesome....
Scouts do need the slight nerf...speed is fine, gun is okay, but the gun hits WAY too hard when compared to the other pros the scout gets (double jump, speed, etc)....reduce dmg by about 35% and it is fine....there is no reason that a scout should be able to crit 1shot a soldier in any circumstance....
Spy detection is non-existant and that is okay.....the original spy was MUCH more fun with the funny gun
Engies need a balance....the reason why is it is so tough to take out a sentry when the engie is banging it from behind with a dispenser right next to it.....no engie and it takes 4 rockets to blow up a stage 3 sentry.....small change, nothing major
Pyro moved from a worthless class to something that is a touch overpowered.....either dumb down his shotty, or pull back the dmg done with the flamethrower
one of the best games i have played in ages....

Man the scout gun ONLY hits hard if they are at PB range and typically behind you. Realistically any gun at PB range should do signifigant damange. Scouts are fine.
I disagree about engies needing a nerf.. thats the point no solo solider should be able to destroy the "bases defenses" by himself. Again, counter = spy sap sentry backstab engy = gg.
Pyros are definetly a touch over powered, I think their damage is fine with all their guns just think if they are going to give them that kind of damage out put especially at PB range I think they should remove the fire-dot from the pyro.
I'll add you when I get home, you should jump in vent some time man.. last couple of nights we've had 4-5 people every night playing together.. currently we've done mostly solo play since some people are still learning/adjusting to the game but after release we could probably start playing more as a team.

2-shotting soliders with that gun? No fricking way.....its way to OP for all the other pros that the scout gets. Also that scatter gun can do 10% dmg from FAR away (battlement to battlement on 2Forts)....it needs a small tweak (not a "fix")
sentry guns is a fact (you will see this once you play team based matches). Pubs it is one thing, not when you are restricted to 1 class per team or 6v6 matches....
Pyros are close...
but again Ty, if thse are the ONLY three things we are gripping about, it is a damn good game....

It would be interesting if one of you guys who have played tf2 beta to download fortress forever and try that and compare the two gameplay wise.
So far today ive been playing FF and I personally think im gonna play it instead of tf2. I would like to play with other lod'ers but the game has almost identical maps to the original and its like playing the game but on source, so its really really good graphics and so far ive enjoyed it alot.

Get fucking TF2 you homo. FF isn't even in the same league. This isn't just a source rewrite and it's not the same maps.
