If you ever played action quake back in the day you know there was a mod called Team Fortress...its CTF, control point type of game with a paper scissors rock of classes etc etc etc...i posted in our private forums the trailers...
well the beta is out and it fucking rocks....well balanced kill fest....imagine a game like CS but on steroids...its cartoonish, gimmicky, but the game plays great. very quake like and 'team" based...meaning you can be a heavy gunner and partner with a medic and rape....
the coolest is if you die, you take 15 seconds to respawn and in the middle there is like a trophy pic of the guy who killed you...

I played the shit out of TFC from HL1, so if it's like that, I can't wait. Do engineers still get Emp Grenades and Sentry guns? hehe. Do they have classic maps or all new?

Not to bash the official tf2, but I hate the cartoonish look specially wit hthe nice source engine they have now.
I will be playing www.fortress-forever.com instead. Its the same game, just in my opinion, tf2 the way it should be.

That's actually something that bothers me too a bit (even though I haven't played it yet). With that said, I'm more concerned with mechanics and level of fun and strategy, if that is there, then the graphics are an afterthought. After all, when you're in the heat of the moment, you're not paying attention to graphics, you're paying attention to killing and winning.

I agree... but... tfc was awesome... and to me, doing cartoon characters is a step backwards in my opinion... so I would say tfc is better then tfc2. Because the game is the same (with minor details ya) so I tend to look at graphics and playerbase.
as a side note... I think fortressforever didn't change anything? but added more graphics like... snipers have laser beams for there scopes and u cant see them unless they are almost looking at you type of deal...
the tfc2 to me, I saw the trailers a while ago and they actually turned me off. I was too excited for the new source to be put in so I persojnally was very disapointed.
