I actually did reflect on most of those points after the movie = P
The movie was great. I'm really not sure what you were expecting Stretch. It's seems your biggest beef was the lack of historical perspective... Do you really think they were aiming for that?.. Have you seen the movie?? lol. The history was close enough for a MOVIE based on a COMIC SERIES meant to entertain the audience.

Yeah I'll go read a review of some critic and base my opinion on that if I should see it or not, good idea buddy, thinking for yourself is overrated I know. LOL! Nothing will please you, just admit it, you're a cynic and there is nothing wrong with that or something. <img src="/~stretch/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Historically Spartans only had sexual pleasure with each other, and only bread with women to make more boys. Homosexuality was built into their training at a young age. Too bad their outfits were too flashy for you Stretch, maybe you should catch up on some history lessons.

Stylization awesome. Script and plot pretty terrible. Historical context very thin and misleading. Narrator annoying as fuck. But good brainless bloodbath.

I also just finished watching 300.
Sorry to say but I actually agree with Stretch on this one. Amazing cinematography but an extremely weak plot/storyline. Almost was too much CG (if thats possible)..
Good movie though 7ish/10..

they spent a year in production just doing the blue screen. yeah youre right. the storyline was really dumb. history......pfft how boring. go watch dumbo for a serious story line with an amazing plot.

I never said that history was boring and/or dumb.. I said the plot of this particular movie was weak. It could have had a better storyline and dialogue..
The movie wasnt bad at all, it just doesn't fit into the category of movies like Sin City.
To sum it up, I went into 300 thinking I was going to be watching an epic, but walked out feeling like I just watched an action flick..

oh ok so thats your problem. quit comparing a movie that is fiction to a movie that is historical. i think that stretch had the same feelings.
oh sin city was amazing so 300 will be amazing!
when in all actual 300 was amazing, but on a different level. apples and oranges, theyre still both fruit, just different kinds. does that make sense?
the patriot vs braveheart
sin city vs 300
fiction vs fact.
how can you improve a historical event? the plot was based off history. the dialog was straight from history books. im still going to pk you. sorry if im arguing alot about this. but i still think you and stretch are like totally as torak would say, being very cyanical.
