It currently takes a carbon footprint nearly 20% greater to produce plastics from renewable sources. That is just the energy consumption necessary Stretch. I could go further with the true costs but it would take to long. Until the Walmarts of the world are willing to pay for this initial 20% you will be finding petrochemical based plastics in everything you see and feel.
Why do you think Walmarts new stance on going "Green" is really about packaging reduction, rather than truly green "Cradle to Grave" solutions.
One reason. Reduction saves money. Green costs money.
Now since my company is a leader in trying to get the above listed companies interested in enviromentally benign projects maybe my house is made of something more than glass.
