The pvp ownage was rarly the pk case. Here was it simplified, PK: The best part of it was no matter how good or bad they were, getting a invul, or fort suit of armor with regs/a great weapon was the craziest thing ever. Getting loot like this made you loot fast, and try to bank the shit as fast as possible. That was pking, the loot factor, skill was not an issue. Dueling: This is where skill was an issue. After pking or someone who thought they were the shit would duel you. The reward was wtfpwning someone and proving that they ran their mouth and sucked balls. So when it comes to new games we need to realize 2 things. Every game now has a dueling aspect. Great. Not every game has a pk aspect. That is what lacks, that is what we want. There is no argument over it... we are item whores, we want whats not ours, and that is what we are waiting for. Dont get confused about the pvp and pking.. we can always pvp or pk in most games, but be careful what you enjoyed in pvp... maybe you wern't a true pk and loved to duel? Maybe you were the hardcore mofo who just wanted to pk and get loot? Personally I was the type who loved the loot. I dont care if it was a miner or anyone else, I still felt badass when I had their loot which was theirs a few seconds prior. Waiting for their friends or trying to bank some sweet gear was the fun part. /rant

Even when the loot you get means very little, as it usually does in SB, I fucking love it. I seriously get joy outta taking something from someone. Anything. Laugh at me if you like, I actually enjoy it in SB even if I just get a recall scroll off a corpse. In UO, we didn't just kill to get a few things off of someone's pack. Ask anyone who was either in 7, or got ganked by us, we initiated elaborate schemes to steal people's shit.

yeah thats cool if you take pride in your skills on a game... id rather just play and have fun and make people waste as much time as i can by having to re-up on regs and other shit. and then owning someone with their vanq sword that i took off their dead body. thats always fun too.

yeah thats cool if you take pride in your skills on a game... i sense a hint of sarcasm there, or trash talking lol. i dont really take pride in my skill of a video game. i am just VERY VERY competitive. whatever i do. monopoly, online gaming, sex on a beach, whatever it is. i want to win and if i am playing a game or sport, its a waste of time for me unless i win. and also with that, thats why i also like the underdog side of things. why i picked the kids who didnt play very well, and why i fought lod in UO for so many years. because why join the biggest and baddest? you dont learn, or get better. make sense? i like the challenge, and overcoming it. games or life, its all a challenge to overcome. that was deep...

i understand competitiveness. im very competitive myself, but the phrase "its just a game" really applies to UO more so than sports or other physical activity. the point of UO for me was to have fun, where as the point of other sports and stuff was to dominate my opponent.
