The energy that a hybrid car uses comes from thin air.  True story.
Unless gas prices go to $4 or $5, I won't be changing my driving habits.  With crude declining to $61, we've already seen some of the pressure on prices lighten up.
In all seriousness, I enjoy having the option to purchase a variety of cars that utilize different energy sources.  Spreading out the consumption of resources is a good thing, but people should be allowed to make that choice.
