If you like the mystery shows Cold Case is pretty cool. The cops get cases that are unsolved from the past and they investigate and it flashes back to the time usuaully anywhere from the 50-80's. It does a great job portraying the times of the time with scenery/music etc.
Yah I forgot Band of Brothers on my list. The series was "ON Demand" for my cable, but they yanked it when I had 2 episodes to go.
