Since gaming isn't a hobby due to content I have taken up collecting TV series. In no particular order I have seen every episode:
1.Entourage
2.Lost (complete)
3.Sopranos
4.6 Feet Under
5.Nip Tuck
To do list (meaning haven;t watched yet)
1.Rescue Me (heard it's the ish, starting at episode 1 is a must)
2.Deadwood
3.Cold Case
List your favs and recomendations if I left any out you think are good.

The Unit - It's OK... pretty good stuff sometimes but the wives stories are kinda boring. Like... filler.
Alias - 1st and maybe 2nd season are good. Everything after that gets cheesy.
The Wire - awsome show.
The Sheild - good show
of course The Family Guy, but a lot of people have seen so many episodes that trying to watch the full seasons would be almost completely redundant.
uh... if I can think of any others I will let you know.

have to agree with the shield it is a great show but would only watch the wire if you have nothing better to do... first season of the wire was ok, kind of boring, second season was crap... not sure how the third season is... definently pick up the shield, season 1/2 and the last season are the best so far

The first major show I would add to your list is, of course, "24".. Season 1-3 are amazing.. If you haven't seen it, put them at the top of your list. You will get similar feedback from others on the forum about 24, you just can't beat the early seasons.
The second show I would add to your list is "Prison Break". It is only one season in and it started out relatively slow, but it definitely fired up to become a great series. It's not as good as 24, but I'm pumped to watch the next season..
The third show I would add to your list is "House M.D".. If you enjoy sarcastic humour House is definitely the show to catch.. You don't have to watch it like other seasons (from ep 1 to the finale) but it's good show to throw on if you want a laugh (plus Dr. Cameron is hot).. I would add this to the end of your list, it's a good show to watch every once in a while, but it does get repetitive. Hugh Laurie's sarcastic comedy is well worth it though.. Don't leave it out!
Since it looks like you are on an HBO kick (Deadwood/Wire are both awesome), you should pick up "Band of Brothers" (if you haven't already seen it).. BoB ranks as my favourite HBO mini series ever released.. The characters are so real and well portrayed, I can't say enough good things about BoB..
If you enjoy Speilberg (BoB) you should also check out "Taken". It's not as good as BoB, but it's a solid mini series!
I'm looking forward to find other recomendations.. I haven't watched much since summer started.. I usually keep the show saved up until the winter hits up in Canada lol

I second Prison Break and of course BoB is the best thing to come out of HBO. Entourage is the shit...Jeremy Piven will get the Emmy this year hands down...you heard it here first

Watch wondershowzen if you haven't seen that yet. Season 1 is good, and all of season 2 except for the last 2 episodes are amazing.

I don't have to watch them in order, matter fact watch Ocean first and Space 2nd, those are great.

The Contender returns to ESPN tomorrow. Not sure if you watched the first Contender, but it was pretty bad ass... I was fired up for every fight.
