anecdotal evidence doesn't do it for me. i guess you do believe in wearing helmets (since you do) -- just not in fan of gov't controlled helmet wearing. i guess that voids the next question i was gonna ask ya -- "what would you suggest your kid do?"
as far as the founding fathers/gov't micromanagement sentiment, i can't believe anyone (especially those who wear helmets) would waste a second fighting this type of battle. there are so many other instances of gov't overstepping the intentions of our forefathers...but people are battling for the right not to protect their heads while riding on a 2-wheeled vehicle.
if you weren't a marine, id tell ya that hippies would protest anything....apparently =D
btw, would our forefathers believe in seatbelts? i think so...mainly 'cause they probably understood the masses weren't smart enough to buckle up when its not mandatory.
