If I am going to label myself it wouldnt be republican it would be conservative. This year, i am voting republican because I think Bush will do a better job according to my views. I think the democrats these days are more liberal then moderate. I dont think the democratic party is for the middle class, but rather for the poor or are just hardcore partisan.
Bush pissed me off when he said he would allow illegals to get work permits. I hope he is lying.
Borders is the #1 issue in America, and among americans. Yet both parties are not going to stop it because of our fuqed up voting system, they want to appeal to the 10-15 million illegals on Nov 2. You need a gawd dam license to rent at block buster, but not one to vote. In one county in Washington there are more registered voters then there are people over the age of 18.
In 1996 California overwhelmingly voted to NOT allow illegals to receive medical benefits, welfare, and education if they had no SS # and liscense. This vote was made by the people for the people. Judges having way too much fuqing power overturned the vote and threw it out. This is how fucked up our system is these days.

sounds like an insult wrapped inside of a compliment. maybe you can explain how your opinions have changed since your brainwashed childhood? or is it that you were just schooled the "right" way from the very beginning? ahhhh the insanity! alsdf;jaldsf

For one, the leason that I said Stretch needed to learn on his own, I have spent time and learned on my own (and still continue to learn). That type of understanding comes through expience and personal growth. It does not come by force.
If you want to do a little research, check how political trends and values change as your age changes. A simplified version is we are much more liberal when we are younger, and as we age, we become more conservative. That is just how things work. Regardless of what the motivation, shift in priorities, interests, or whatever that is the trend of most average folks.
I guess if you want to interpret my compliment to him as a nice way of slamming him, I suppose you can if you want. They are two seperate things. Stretch is very smart, learned, intelligent, etc. Do I think he has some things to learn and apply from getting more out of life? Absolutely. I do think Stretch can learn from being more open minded than he portrays to be. His stance rarely/never changes and he does believe his perspective is usually right and he digs his heels in.
Being stubborn is fine, but when it blinds you to any other thought or course of action, I consider that a problem.

ahh gotcha...stretch will only get smarter! wow, we're gonna be in trouble when stretch is at retirement age =D
stretch usually plays devil's advocate imo -- i just find it funny that someone is taking a hard stance in opposition to most people on this forum and its all because of his "budding" political maturity. open your eyes stretch...or just wait until you retire...then we'll be able to have an intelligent conversation w/you.
at any rate...i've had enough real world experience to last a couple lifetimes and i still think bush is a moron. and regardless of any abstract research you can quote...i doubt my political maturation has little impact on my belief that "dubyah" is:
1. retarded
2. spoiled
3. sheltered
4. a religious fanatic
5. a failed "real-world" performer
6. and the absolute worst public speaker in all american history (and yes i do think it's important to be able to articulate yourself to the public and international community).

but his tactics, delivery, and understanding will get better.
Like I said, he's already a smart guy.
I am not a registered voter, nor do I want to participate with the political crap that is going on (by my own choice). I get sick of the campaigns, head games, and spin artists.
Does that fact influence where you thought I was coming from????
My weakness? I spend too much time looking at the different views, perspectives, and arguments of others. I can usually find good points in anyone's stance.

great post, great article.
and on the question of why reagen was considered such a great president.
He brought around the fall of the USSR, during which time period america had the lowest oppinion rating in the history of our country over in europe. Even lower than it is now, he stood firm in his resolve to take down the USSR and not to back down in the arms race, which eventually bankrupted their governements, and left us the worlds last standing super power. He was one of the greatest presidents of all time, up there with truman and lincoln, but i would agree he wasn't better than either.

I think O'Reilly has gone soft. But I will admit the guy is a genius. I watched him when I could and I personally feel as though the man is more influential then most politicians.
Anyway, who do you think is among the leading intellectual journalists via television?
Do you listen to radio? I advise Michael Savage 4-7pm Pacific time For your right wing ear, dont think left wing radio is popular. Dont know any off the top of my head.
Where do you usually get your info? tv, radio, newspaper?
