For one, the leason that I said Stretch needed to learn on his own, I have spent time and learned on my own (and still continue to learn). That type of understanding comes through expience and personal growth. It does not come by force.
If you want to do a little research, check how political trends and values change as your age changes. A simplified version is we are much more liberal when we are younger, and as we age, we become more conservative. That is just how things work. Regardless of what the motivation, shift in priorities, interests, or whatever that is the trend of most average folks.
I guess if you want to interpret my compliment to him as a nice way of slamming him, I suppose you can if you want. They are two seperate things. Stretch is very smart, learned, intelligent, etc. Do I think he has some things to learn and apply from getting more out of life? Absolutely. I do think Stretch can learn from being more open minded than he portrays to be. His stance rarely/never changes and he does believe his perspective is usually right and he digs his heels in.
Being stubborn is fine, but when it blinds you to any other thought or course of action, I consider that a problem.
