I like and respect Stretch quite a bit. I have also met him in real life so I have a little bit more to base my judgement and impression on.
Stretch is a VERY intelligent guy, but he is also still fairly young. Not that being young is a bad thing. What you are trying to teach him through debate and argument, he will learn and understand in time (but he must and will learn it on his own). Mainly empathy and being able to see perspectives from multiple sides.
