Your right, its not just about numbers, its about strategic placement of a free country in the heart of allah land, break up opec and create a good oil trading partner, since we are there lets free a few million people, spread democracy (incentive), GWBush's revenge for his father, an example to the rest of the middle east (we're not fuqing around).
Kerry thinks Bush purposely mislead congress/senate into Iraq. Thats just a conspiracy theory. No proof here, seeing how the intelligence given was from several different agencies and the collective thought was Iraq has WMD's.
Iraq being such a bad place just got put into perspective by Gorechild. Great post <img src="/~stretch/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
How dangerous is urban warfare?
7 million russians died in WWII.
During a US bombing campaign on a well guarded city in Germany, after the city was brought to rubble, 400,000 russian troops still died in urban warfare in a city occupied by german foot soldiers. Even after bombing, and attempting to control the city, 400,000 troops still died in gun to gun battles.
Iraq is currently an Urban warfare setting, where you dont know who your enemy is and when you could be fired on at any time.. Iraq death count is at 1107. Not that any death means less, just realize how good we are doing in Iraq. Especially when you compare this.
There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq during January.....
In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January. -gorechild
Iraq isnt as bad as the media plays it out to be.
Did we go about the war wrong? The War was voted on by congress 296-123 and the senate 77-23. Saying Bush purposely mislead congress/senate is another conspiracy theory that Kerry doesnt care to bring up any longer.
I see no problem with the Iraq war, accept that I would of liked to find WMD's.
