In case you didn't know it here in the USA it is illegal to turn away sick people from public hospitals. If it weren't the illegals in CA, AZ, NV, NM and Tx would all be dieing. Everyone wants to help those who can't help themselves. The problem is diserning those who can from those can't. I feel (opine) that whenever something is given for free and manged by people who don't have a personal stake they will always follow the path of least resistance. Unfortunately it is acceptable in this country to steal from , the government, the big bad corporation and them. Them being everyone who isn't directly involved with the person stealing. My problem with liberal thinking is simple, they believe it is ok to steal from the rich at the point of a gun. They want guys like me to fulfill contracts that they make on my behalf without me having a say. If it is wrong on the playground it is also wrong in the country. Just because some kid has a cup cake in their lunch does not entitle everyone to his cup cake. Now that doesn't mean I don't care about the blind handicapped etc. It means that I would like to choose how I serve not be forced to pay for checks that other people write. It doesn't matter if they are right wing or left wing. Believe me when I say this if not for the fact that I believe the war on terror is real and needs to be pursued vigorously I would be looking for a Republican challenger to Bush. He is too liberal for me with the purse strings. However I believe John Kerry would be a disaster for us on the terror front and that is where my kids future is tied up at the moment. Not healthcare, not swift boats, not national guard service, not "the two america's" and for sure not Social security. So given John Kerry's propensity to be indecisive I'd rather see Bush in the hot seat and pray that the Republican's in Congress pull their heads out of his ass and get back to fiscal conservatism. Most conservatives would agree with me on that I think. However there are lots of ways to skin the healthcare cat but it takes two sides willing to sit down and discuss the problems rather than the political credit or blame for fixing it. From where I am sitting I have watched the Democrats sell their souls for the party when they knew what they were doing was wrong. I see it far more from the left that the right primarily because they don't have any single uniting principle. They are a party of single issue platforms that don't really reconcile well and it shows in there lack of success. Kerry is the culmination of this stuff and it is why he in unable to really take a clear stand on anything. If he is for the war he turns out half of his base, Against and he gets the other half. Until the democrats stop focusing on "focus" groups and put together an ideology they are proud of they will continue to be beaten by weak candidates like Bush.
