Now that you've stated your views in such a clear manner, I have to say that I agree with you. We may deviate on some items.
I agree that Lazy (chronic welfare slugs who find it easier not to work) are a burden on everyone. I agree whole heartedly about the opportunity to excel and create wealth. You and I know that is not an easy, simple ride. Rather it is a lot of sweat equity to achieve a great lifestyle. I personally work 7 days a week, 16+ hrs a day. I, like yourself benefit from the tax breaks, but still pay a good chunk of change regardless at the end of the year.
I feel the same anger you do, when you work that hard, and see a percentage siphoned off for people who have no intention of contributing to anything.
Where we deviate is on some of the safety nets for those who cannot avoid a hole in the system.
ie: A person works 10 hrs a day, 7 days a week earning minimum wage. They have to work for 3 different companies (cheaper to have part time labor, so you can avoid healthcare expenses). That person needs, say $500 to $1000 . month for some for of healthcare. They can't afford it, if they eat & pay rent etc....
In that situation, the person is a contributor, not a slug, but unable to maintain themself healthwise. The HMO's & PPO's can't be blamed, they are businesses. You can't legislate them to accept people who will cost them profit.
That is the tough spot. There should be some form of assistance for that person, over the slug who is a leech.
Frankly, you, me and everyone has paid over $1500 in our tax contributions to Iraq this year alone. I would have preferred that to goto domestic needs over building water plants, hiring cops, pipelines, and mars bars for Iraqis.
