Granted, I do not know much about it, just like no one on these forums, and no one in the media, posting their little "secret facts", knows 1/100 as much as the people whose job it is to make the decisions regarding that war. People, especially the media, tend to conviently forget this fact to boost their ratings and their little political angles.
What I guess though, is that America will likely remain in Iraq long enough to ensure that a stable government has been set up and has control, otherwise we'd just be leaving a bud of an organized enemy nation ready to boom up and retaliate later.
Do I think our nation possesses the ability to get this done? yes. Do i think we should? yes. Do I think it will be easy or free of bloodshed? No. Is the concept of fighting offshore to defend America against potential enemies before they hit worth it? Yes. And lastly, do I think that Saddam or members of his regime would have eventually launched a serious attack on the US? Yes.
So that's my humble opinion. You stay till the job's done.
EDIT thanks to Muj whining about WMD's a few posts up:
Where the fuck is Saddam's missing private jet? There are likely still thousands of places WMD's could be hidden, and I frankly, don't give a shit if they are NEVER found, it won't change my opinion on the matter. There was the chance, the possibiltiy, the RISK, of nuclear weapons in the hands of a madman in complete control of his regime with no one to contest his orders and hatred for America.
Now that regime is ended, the madman is in custody, and a new government will be built.
Cry more about it now. I'm going to bed
